How to Apply
Students should apply by informing their current guidance counselor of their decision to audition and the disciplines that they wish to audition for. Please note: there may be internal processes established by the school district you reside in. Please follow the protocol outlined by your school district.
Once approved, a representative of your school district will complete the paper application below. You will need to complete the Supplement Application which follows. These items should then be sent to LIHSA.
Once LIHSA receives your application, we will be in touch to schedule an audition.
Each discipline has a different audition/portfolio expectation. Here are our audition requirements.
Successful candidates are expected to exhibit an intermediate to advanced level of proficiency in their art forms. Students are evaluated based on their preparation for the audition, level of commitment to their art form, technical proficiency, and artistic expression.
Once the audition is completed, or the portfolio review is done, LIHSA informs your school district of the results. At that time, your school district will work with you on scheduling and transportation.
