Farber Award Winner Giulianna DiSalvo

On Friday, May 1, 2026, school district leaders from across Nassau County gathered an the annual George Farber Outstanding Student Awards to celebrate distinguished students from the district. Among the 20+ honorees, LIHSA awarded Giulianna DiSalvo (Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District) this prestigious award.

Giulianna has studied dance at LIHSA and has been a passionate and hard-working student.  With virtually perfect attendance,  she comes to class prepared, on time and focused. Giulianna displays an excellent work ethic and humbly pushes herself in class, maintaining a cheerful and open disposition, impeccable professionalism, and positive attitude.

Giulianna has been consistently open and willing to try new techniques, learn new skills, and better herself . Throughout her two years at LIHSA, we’ve seen her blossom into a mature, versatile, and strong dancer.  Giulianna is well-loved among her peers at both LIHSA and in the Dance Buddies program.

Giulianna is the Secretary for our chapter of the National Honor Society for Dance Arts and has been a member of NHSDA for two years. The world of dance can be highly competitive but Giulianna has lead with spirit of teamwork and collaboration during her time at LIHSA.

Giulianna will begin her studies in the dance program at Sacred Heart University in the Fall and will major in Elementary Special Education and Minoring in Dance.  We are very proud to honor Giulianna with the George Farber Outstanding Student Award.

The award ceremony also featured a beautiful performance of the Dance Buddies – a special collaboration between LIHSA and Rosemary Kennedy School students. Please keep scrolling to see photos of Giulianna and the performance.
