Lina Murale: 2025-26 Scholar Artist!

Congratulations to Lina Murale of Bellmore for being named a Long Island Arts Alliance 2025-26 Scholar Artist! Lina, who also attends Mempham High School in Bellmore, studies dance at LIHSA.

Lina practices many styles of dance. She shares, “My favorite style is jazz, but I also train in contemporary, tap, lyrical, hip-hop, ballet, and modern.” In addition to training at LIHSA, she also trains at Legacy Dance Center.

Aspiring to be a professional dancer, Lina is applying to college with the intention of majoring in dance. Her ideal career would be to perform on Broadway and/or as a Radio City Rockette. She shares that in addition to being surrounded by loved ones, “I wish to have a job that I love and look forward to doing each day.”

Lina has loved her time already at LIHSA saying, “My experience at LIHSA has made me a better dancer and I believe has prepared me for this industry. From lighting and staging to audition processes and resumes, I feel confident stepping into a new environment.”

Looking at what’s coming up at LIHSA this academic year, Lina shares, “This year I am very excited to learn the Cunningham technique with our future residency and take classes from alumni and last year’s residencies.”

Inspired by her cousin, Taylor, a dancer, Lina further says, “I would like to thank all of my dance teachers at LIHSA and Legacy Dance Center for getting me to where I am today and pushing me to always be my best. I’m so grateful for this opportunity and I can’t wait to see where this year takes me!”

We can’t wait to see where it takes you too, Lina.  Congratulations! Keep scrolling for more photos.
