Long Island Media Art Show 2026 at Five Towns College

On March 27, 2026, LIHSA visual arts students attended the Long Island Media Arts Show at Five Towns College. The day of creativity, connection, and celebration was attended by 500+ students from 19 high schools throughout Long Island including emerging artists, filmmakers, photographers, animators, and digital creators all showcasing their work.

Faculty member Mike Minerva shared, “FTC has a classroom where they teach game design. For the show, it was called the game hub. Five LIHSA Game Design students had games available to play on the computers in the room.  The room has 2 see through walls so anyone walking by the classroom saw the games and the students were awarded a certificate for submitting a game to the show.”

The game design students (and their games) who participated were: Julius Cirabisi (Ball Fighting Simulator), Judah Parker (Moo-Fo), Lotte Johnson (Kracken Attack), Madden Tepper (Rolladex), and Angelina Tinneny (Roadkill).

Students Amelie Kasal and Shmuli Zinn from Arts Exploration Skills also attended. Faculty member Melissa Dorcemus shared that, “They attended workshops on sketch comedy, fashion photography and the future of AI in art.”

The Film / Television Production class attended as well. One student, Kingsley Ngitngit’s film, was nominated for best in show along with other students in other classes.

The day was enjoyed by the LIHSA students. “I liked watching the film students’ movie productions. It was interesting to see so many art mediums all in one place.” shared Alina Cooper (AM student, Visual Arts, Elwood UFSD).
Alexa Byers (AM student, Visual Arts, Carle Place UFSD) also appreciated the day sharing, “Looking at the other students’ art pieces was cool. I enjoyed being surrounded by artists.”
