College Recruiters On Campus

LIHSA students were recently visited by recruiters for two prestigious arts programs who shared their experience and advice and highlighted specific opportunities tailored for our talented graduates.

Rebecca Overton, Molloy College’s Theatre Arts Recruitment Coordinator, provided them with details on the Molloy College/CAP21 BFA Program.

For sophomore, junior and senior years, B.F.A. students will split their time between the Rockville Centre campus and the state-of-the-art CAP21 Manhattan Center.  Throughout their eight semesters in the program, students will take a wide range of performing arts classes that will include: Acting, Voice, Jazz and Ballet.

Students are also offered weekly private voice lessons for all four years of study.

The program’s objective is to thoroughly prepare students for a career in Musical Theatre, focusing on true triple-threat training and professionalism.

Students must register on the Molloy College website.

While there is no firm deadline (Molloy College offers rolling admissions), they STRONGLY recommend that BFA students apply academically to the college AND submit their prescreen videos by DECEMBER 15th for priority consideration at https://app.getacceptd.com/molloytheatre

Academic, Leadership and Community Service scholarships available, as well as traditional need-based financial aid.

Our Students were also joined “virtually” by the Admissions Team of The Juilliard School, a place where dancers, actors, playwrights, classical and jazz musicians have come here to hone their craft and deepen their artistry for over 100 years.

Though Juilliard needs no introduction to our students, their recruiters helped clear away the mystique, allowing our students to see themselves as uniquely qualified and prepared to apply to such a world-class conservatory.

A career in the arts is challenging, but the only way to make it happen is to risk: To risk taking that audition, creating that work of art, exposing who you are.

The Juilliard School

Juilliard has strict deadlines for admissions with deadlines ranging from November 1st through December 1st, depending on the program the student is applying to.

The recently updated Juilliard Admissions Viewbook is extremely comprehensive and available to view or download HERE.

For additional information, please visit juilliard.edu/admissions where you can also take a virtual Campus tour, join a virtual information Sessions or contact an Admissions Officer or Student to answer any questions you might have.

The LIHSA team is excited to support our students as they take the next step in their arts education.
