Film & Media Arts Festival Spring 2025
The Film and Media Arts Festival at the Long Island High School for the Arts was a vibrant celebration of student creativity and innovation across multiple disciplines. On Wednesday, May 28th, the event welcomed guests to an inspiring gallery walk, where AP Visual Arts students showcased their artwork in a stunning display of talent and vision. The walls came alive with diverse pieces that reflected months of hard work and artistic exploration and power of visual storytelling.
Students and guests were then treated to an engaging hour-long film screening featuring works by Media Arts students. From thought-provoking documentaries to chilling horror films, the screenings offered a rich variety of content that highlighted the students’ storytelling skills and cinematic techniques from Multimedia Film and TV students. 3D Animation students impressed all with original shorts that showcased both artistic flair and technical skill. Meanwhile, Audio Production students shared original music videos, combining original soundtracks with compelling visuals to deliver a multi-sensory experience. Game Design students rounded out the event with dynamic demonstrations of their gameplay creations, offering an interactive look at the design process behind their innovative projects.
A heartfelt thank you goes to the dedicated faculty who made the festival possible: Jason Cuvelier, Chris Fedorczak, Mike Minerva, and Robyn Morgan whose passion and guidance inspire students to reach new heights. Special thanks as well to Erik Chocianowski for his invaluable technical support.
The Film and Media Arts Festival was a powerful reminder of the talent flourishing at LIHSA and the incredible future that awaits them!
