First Day of Rehearsals: Merrily We Roll Along

It’s our time, breathe it in:

Worlds to change and worlds to win.

LIHSA’s  2026-27 Performing Arts Season will present Merrily We Roll Along January 21-22, 2027 at 7 pm at RISE School at Jerusalem Ave, Bellmore, New York.  Rehearsals have started this month and these photos show our students’ excitement!

Faculty member and the show’s Director Chris Brick shared that he chose this show because, “I wanted to give our students the opportunity to take on something that would truly challenge them and elevate their skills they have learned to hone at LIHSA. Sondheim’s work asks a lot of young performers (vocally, emotionally, dramatically, etc.) and I felt that our students were ready for that challenge. What makes this production especially exciting is watching high school students’ step into material that is often associated with professional-level theatre. They’re learning to take creative risks and really trust themselves as performers. More than simply putting on a show, this production, like all of our full productions, is about giving our students the chance to stretch beyond what they’ve done before and discover just how much they’re capable of.”
