First Year Cabaret ’26!
Every once in a while, a magical event is created by students and faculty that is loved by the entire school. Every department collaborates on the planning, preparation, and execution, making the event unique. The outcome is a special memory for students, staff, faculty, and audience members alike. LIHSA’s First Year Cabaret on January 9, 2026, was just this kind of event.
During the day, LIHSA’s classrooms were transformed by LIHSA’s production and managerial arts department into intimate cabaret spaces. First year musical theater students performed thirteen pieces in two acts.
The First Year Cabaret featured LIHSA’s newest Musical Theatre students and was the result of their work in Kim Larkin’s Fall Theatre Production class. The students learned the real elements of cabaret and implemented them into every aspect of this performance.
Dance studios were converted into an intimate cabaret space where 115 friends and family members gathered to support the new faces of talent at LIHSA. Seniors took orders and served refreshments, creating the ultimate cabaret feel.
The band, under direction of Francis Lees, kept the music flowing and the audience entertained! Congratulations to the cast and crew on an incredible show! Keep scrolling to see photos.
