LIHSA Students Perform Carols at Old Wesbury Gardens December 3, 2023

LIHSA students once again decked the beautiful and historic halls of Old Westbury Gardens with bounds of holiday carols on Sunday, December 3, 2023. Festive spirits and harmonies filled the halls with pure joy.

Jake Santos of Carle Place is a junior and music major at LIHSA who played saxophone at the event. They said, “It was nice to see all my classmates prepare songs on their own and come and display them for us.”

Senior Christian Diehl of Massapequa also played live music. He shared, “There was a really big sense of community with the group.  It was good teamwork and bonding experience with my classmates.”  Christian played guitar on “Blue Christmas” and “This Christmas.”

Sam Harold of Bethpage is a junior who played drums on “This Christmas” and “Santa Can’t You Hear Me.” She shared that the best part of the day was, “Getting to see all the joy on the audience’s face.”  She was also featured on the guitar on some holiday tunes.

Jahi Bradby of Malverne is a junior studying vocals. He reflected on the event, “I think it was really great.  The venue was very beautiful.  Everyone was talented and it was very fun.” Mary Sol Alvarado from Long Beach sang, “Christmas Comes to Town.” She rehearsed many times for this event and had a beautiful performance in the packed venue.

Special thanks to Mr. Vietheer and Ms. Larkin for preparing students to share their gifts of music and to Mr. Nobile for producing this annual event.  What a wonderful way to celebrate the holiday season!
