LIHSA Summer Arts Academy 2025: A Season of Creativity and Community
This July, the Long Island High School for the Arts proudly welcomed more than 80 young artists in grades 2–12 to our Summer Arts Academy. For four weeks, students immersed themselves in the arts, exploring their creativity through classes such as 3D Animation, Music Ensemble, Audio Production, Film, and Musical Theatre.
We were thrilled to award 14 full scholarships made possible through the generosity of The Joel Foundation. The summer became even more memorable when Alexis Joel visited campus to meet students, hear about their experiences, and celebrate their artistic journeys. Each discipline showcased their talent in exciting final presentations. Our Musical Theatre group brought down the house with a lively performance of Beetlejuice Jr., while our youngest students charmed audiences with an energetic showcase of dance and musical theatre numbers. Film students capped off their intensive with a student-led film festival, giving families a chance to enjoy their creative storytelling on the big screen. We are deeply grateful for our continued partnership with Hofstra University, whose support helps make this enriching program possible.
