Getting to Know You: Lynn LaCorte

This year we are so pleased to welcome Lynn LaCorte as a new Teachers Aide to LIHSA. Let’s get to know her.

Lynn received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from NYIT. She worked in Marketing as a graphics designer for 10+ years, then taking a break when her daughter was born. When she returned to work fourteen years ago, she began working for Nassau BOCES in Special Education. When a position came open at LIHSA this year, it seemed like a perfect next step for Lynn – with both her background in visual arts and as the school’s Skills Exploration Program debuts. Working at a school for the arts is a full circle experience for her, going back to her own arts training.

When she’s not at LIHSA, Lynn loves tennis, which she’s been playing since her own high school days. “In my head I’m very good,” she shares. In addition to playing, she also is passionate about watching tennis, and attends the US Open every year. 

Lynn’s so pleased to be at LIHSA sharing, “I’m in awe with everything we do here for the students. I’m so excited and grateful to be a part of this amazing team, and will do my best to help make a difference in the students’ lives!”
