Outstanding Senior: Norah Gaulrapp

Norah Gaulrapp is a senior from Carle Place studying Multimedia, Film, and TV. She may typically spend more time behind the camera, but we’re thrilled she’s in the spotlight as a LIHSA Outstanding Senior.

Norah’s passion for film editing started during the pandemic, creating films at home. When she learned that LIHSA had a program that would help prepare her for a career in film and TV, she decided to come here.

LIHSA has not only helped grow her skills in film and TV, but also as a person. Norah shared, “I was really shy my first two years in high school. LIHSA helped me become more confident.”

Norah credits her teacher, Ms. Morgan, for being a big influence, learning a lot from her. The class has learned about various cameras and Norah shares that when some of the editing software is slow, she’s also learned patience.

One of Norah’s favorite projects was when the class filmed a one pilot episode last year called “Oakvale.” Filmed on campus, it was a joy to make.

Describing LIHSA in a single word, Norah says it’s FUN! She meets new people every day and loves that she gets to do what she loves.

After graduating this year, Norah plans to pursue studying Film and TV in college and is looking at schools like Five Towns, Sacred Heart & SUNY Oswego. In five years, she hopes to be working on a TV Production set!

Norah – we’re cheering you on. Thank you for all your incredible work and actions that help make LIHSA such a special place.
